Tools and agents

Assistants that take action, not just answer

Connect your services via MCP, webhooks or REST APIs: the assistant queries your systems, triggers actions and hands the conversation over to the right person.

The problem

Why it matters

Many questions call for live data, such as a case status, a stock level or opening hours, that is not in any document.

An agent must be able to call your services in a controlled way: which tools, which parameters, which limits.

In practice

  1. Declare the toolRemote MCP server, HTTP webhook, or REST API call described parameter by parameter.
  2. Attach it to an assistantEach assistant can only access the tools selected for it.
  3. Let the agent decideThe model picks the relevant tool, provides the allowed parameters and incorporates the result into its answer.
